Hearing Care Redefined

Hearing care isn't simple—it's a complex journey involving precise testing, custom fittings, ongoing maintenance, and verification metrics. With so many moving parts, patients need dedicated care, thorough counseling, and easy accessibility to their provider to make it all work effectively. Unfortunately, as in many healthcare fields, traditional models often prioritize business over people, leading to rushed appointments, limited testing, unsatisfactory fittings, and limited time for education, counseling, and follow-ups, often resulting in suboptimal outcomes. A quantity-over-quality approach does not work in this field—hearing aids underperform, patients delay treatment, and providers face burnout as they rush between appointments.

Avalon Hearing was founded to address these problems. We created a care structure around what truly matters: putting patient success first. Our mobile model brings state-of-the-art care directly to you, ensuring extended provider time, best-practice hearing care, personalized treatment, and accountable, long-term support all in the comfort of your home or community.

Meet Sam Buchanan, BC-HIS

Sam Buchanan is the founder of Avalon Hearing and a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist licensed in Arkansas and Missouri. He is certified to test for and treat traditional hearing loss and holds the highest level of certification specifically for fitting hearing devices. His work is grounded in evidence-based diagnostics and verified fittings, with a consistent emphasis on clinical best practices.

After years in the traditional retail hearing-aid model, Sam recognized that overbooked schedules and sales-driven environments often compromised patient outcomes. Avalon Hearing was created to offer something different — a precision-focused, relationship-driven model built on education, accountability, and long-term success.

Today, Sam specializes in mobile, community-based care throughout Northwest Arkansas, providing comprehensive hearing testing, precision fittings, and ongoing in-home support for his patients. His mission is straightforward: deliver best-practice care, build lasting trust, and ensure every patient receives the time and attention necessary to truly hear their best.
