Hearing Tests & Diagnostic Evaluations

Our comprehensive hearing test process goes far beyond a basic screening. Unlike traditional clinics, we schedule two-hour new patient appointments and take an education-centric approach to care. This extended time allows us to thoroughly evaluate your hearing, understand your communication challenges, and build a strong foundation for long-term success.

We perform full diagnostic evaluations to assess hearing loss and gather the precise data required for accurate hearing aid fittings. Our testing battery evaluates not only hearing thresholds, but also speech understanding, clarity, and real-world communication performance. The goal is not simply to identify hearing loss — it is to understand how it impacts your daily life.

Each evaluation includes a clear explanation of your results and personalized recommendations based on your hearing profile, lifestyle, and communication goals. If you qualify for treatment, we provide a live demonstration during your appointment so you can experience immediate improvement and better understand what properly fit technology can accomplish.

Hearing Aid Fittings & Technology Selection

Selecting hearing aids is about more than choosing a device — it is about choosing the right solution and implementing it correctly. As an independent provider, we work with all major manufacturers to ensure recommendations are unbiased, personalized, and aligned with your specific needs.

Your fitting appointment includes precise programming, hands-on orientation, education for both patients and family members, and a clearly defined follow-up plan. We prioritize clarity, comfort, and realistic expectations from day one. Our goal is not just initial improvement, but predictable long-term success.

Real Ear Measurement (REM) & Verification

Real Ear Measurement (REM) is considered the gold standard for hearing aid verification. However, it is estimated that only a minority of practices in the United States consistently perform it.

Using specialized probe microphone equipment, we measure how your hearing aids are performing inside your unique ear canal — not simply how they are programmed on a computer screen. Every ear canal is anatomically different, and small acoustic variations can significantly impact performance. Without verification, even properly programmed devices may miss prescription targets.

Real Ear Measurement ensures accurate amplification to prescriptive targets, improved speech clarity, greater comfort, and more predictable outcomes. It is one of the most critical steps in achieving true hearing aid success.

Every patient we fit undergoes Real Ear Measurement verification as part of our best-practice process. It is not optional — it is standard.

Hearing Tests & Diagnostic Evaluations

Not hearing as well as you used to? In many cases, the hearing aid itself is not the issue. Performance changes are often related to programming drift, outdated hearing data, device maintenance, or a lack of proper verification.

Our hearing aid refresh process is designed to restore devices to optimal performance. This typically includes updated diagnostic testing, recalibration and reprogramming of the devices, verification of prescriptive targets using Real Ear Measurement, firmware updates when available, and a complete professional breakdown and cleaning of the instruments.

Many patients experience a substantial improvement in clarity and overall performance without needing full device replacement. If it has been more than a year since your last hearing evaluation or adjustment, if your hearing aids were never verified with Real Ear Measurement, or if you feel you are no longer achieving the benefit you once did, it may be time for a comprehensive refresh.

Our hearing aid fittings also include one year of structured service and follow-up care to ensure continued performance and long-term support.

Hearing Aid Repairs & Maintenance

We provide professional cleaning, troubleshooting, and repair coordination for all major manufacturers. Our clinic carries common replacement parts and components, allowing us to resolve many issues immediately — including receiver replacements, dome changes, battery or charging concerns, wax obstruction removal, and moisture-related performance problems.

When devices cannot be restored to proper specification in-office, we coordinate directly with the manufacturer to facilitate warranty or out-of-warranty repairs. Our goal is to minimize downtime and ensure your hearing aids return to performing as intended.

For mobile patients and residents within senior living communities, many maintenance and minor repair services can be completed onsite, reducing disruption and ensuring continued access to care.

Mobile Hearing Clinics

In addition to individual appointments, we host recurring mobile hearing clinic events within senior living communities throughout Northwest Arkansas. These clinics allow residents to access high-level diagnostic testing, hearing-aid fittings, routine maintenance, follow-up care, and family consultations — all within their own community.

We currently host recurring events at more than 10 senior living facilities and have provided mobile hearing clinics at over 20 locations across the region. This model improves accessibility, strengthens continuity of care, and removes common barriers that often prevent individuals from receiving the attention they need to hear their best.

“Sam is great! He helped me out in a pinch when my hearing aid fell apart before a long vacation trip. He sent it off to the manufacturer for repair and set me up with a demo pair, so I didn't have to be without. He went above and beyond for me as I'm new to the area and just met him at a Senior Expo a few months ago. I very much appreciate his kindness and professionalism! He is highly recommended by me!”

“So convenient and personal! Very meaningful to have someone coach me through my hearing loss process. I now know that hearing loss is directly connected to decreased brain health and function, and that getting hearing aids will help my brain to create new neural pathways and grow! Thank you so much for your help!”
